Mitchell is three whole months old!
Mitchell is still teething. I was sure hoping for some sort of miracle child who would stop teething after a week, but unfortunately, that’s not the case. Last night was his first case of sobbing like crazy because of it. I felt terrible because I didn’t know why he was crying, so I just walked around trying to soothe him for 10 minutes. Finally I put some orajel on his teeth and voila, no more crying. Poor guy had to deal with 10 minutes of inept mother before he got his relief.
So far I’ve been much better than I expected with the Christmas gifts. I think he only has five gifts under the tree so far. Of course, that just means that I’ve been giving him everything I buy instead of saving it, but oh well. He’s a baby. I can just take it all back on Christmas Eve.
Justin took the camera tonight and got some great pictures of one of my favorite Mitchell moments right now: the kiss. Whenever I go to kiss him, he opens his mouth really wide and lunges for my face. I’ve gotten pretty good at dodging the super slobbery mouth and getting the cheek, but every once in a while I get a mouthful of drool. Ah, baby drool. I also got a couple pictures of his open-mouth lunge. I assume it’s a teething thing, but a lot of times he’ll just randomly lunge forward with his mouth open. There doesn’t have to be anything in front of him. Sometimes he even screeches while he does it. It’s cute except when he does it toward my chest. Then it’s blackmail material! Haven’t gotten a picture of it quite yet though.
