Since Mitchell was scared of finger paint, I decided to try a different tactic: sponge stamps. I’m sure this project works much better with tempera paints, but I stupidly decided to use super washable watercolor paints and show Mitchell how quickly sponges soak up all the liquid in a dish. Luckily the sponges got filled quickly and the art project got underway. And Mitchell loved it! And I loved how washable the watercolor paints were. My son excels in painting…The easel, the floor, the table, himself, whatever. But at least we know he isn’t opposed to all art projects, just finger paint!
