Kansas!

Our flights were uneventful, and our visit thus far has been a lot of fun. Lots of friends, lots of cousin time, lots of family. I don’t have time to find the words to describe how happy everyone has been!

There was a huge play area in Chicago. Since we had such a long layover we got to play for a long time.

Rosie used her time in the play area to try to escape. Everyone walking by laughed their butts off.

Rosie got a little barbie doll in her happy meal and kept getting a few inches from this guy and smiling really big, like “look what I have!”

The double stroller made the trip so easy. I’m so glad we brought it.

They were playing so nicely!

Friends! We invaded the Dairy Queen. Fun was had by all.

The boys played with the dirt around this tree stump. They were so dirty I can’t even describe it. In the bath, we poured buckets of water over their heads and the mud just ran down.

Easter Bunny!

Rosie met the Easter bunny yesterday! Or maybe the day before. I really can’t remember. Oi.

Anyway, she loved him. Unlike her brother, who went completely boneless on the floor at the mere mention of meeting him. Turns out he just wanted to join the line because he saw a Tonka truck on display. Sheesh.

Pictures!

I’m so screwed.

Rosie is showing more and more of her little personality, and it’s mostly adorable…with a giant dose of ornery/mischievous.

Example A: I couldn’t get her to quit playing in eating the swampy sand from the sand box, so I put a potted plant on top. So she ate the potted plant.

image

Example B: She figured out how to turn the tv on, and this was the look she have me when I came into the room:

If that look doesn’t give you nightmares, you’re not her mother.

A few days ago, I turned my back on the kids for two seconds and turned back around to find them playing in the “sand box bath”.

Shenanigans. They’ve got them.

They enjoyed going make up shopping with mommy (that’s a mirror).

The other day, I found the ring sling in the car. I put it through the laundry, and Justin brought it to me to see where it should go. Rosie ran to him, grabbed it, handed it to me, and very obviously tried to put it on me. As soon as I put it on, she got a huge grin. She hasn’t been in that thing for 4 or 5 months, probably! But she sure rode around in it for a while.

Mitchell “making dinner”: planting corn seeds, which will become corn, that we’ll eat with chicken nuggets and carrots!

Have I mentioned this girl loves bean bag chairs?

This just probably the most accurate shirt I’ve ever made good girl. (You wouldn’t like me when I’m hangry.)

“Mommy, can I rock my Rosie to sleep?”

And, awkward bath time pictures!

Mommy the kids want baby chicks!

Phew. Enough pictures?

One picture I forgot: a picture of our new (to us) car! It’s a minivan. I’m totally fine with that. Kinda. But it’s so pretty! And the kids love it.

We’re still here, I promise!

Things have been a bit crazy lately. It seems like this is the Winter of Sickness for our house. I’ve had 9 shirt orders come in this morning, I have a 10-page report due on Friday, a midterm exam due either Friday or Monday, and my entire family is either coming down with the flu or just getting over the flu. We were car shopping last weekend (for minivans…eeek!), the weekend before that we had to devote an entire day to getting new cell phones…I’m getting a little complain-y here, but holy cow, I feel like I haven’t had a chance to take a deep breath in years.

Anyway, just to remind everyone that we’re still here (and to cover up the fact that I still haven’t been able to sync the blog to my new phone), I’m going to share videos instead of pictures! Enjoy!

Mitchell and Rosie dancing! Mitchell RARELY, IF EVER dances here at home. He danced with Colton, and he’ll dance at the library, but I hardly EVER get him to dance with me. Once he saw Rosie dancing, though, he started dancing! Ignore the state of the house. Or don’t; your disapproval won’t magically give me the energy to clean it. https://goo.gl/photos/a7HMT61svnDpS6B7A
